Thank you for considering SS Shipping for your freight needs. Before utilizing our services, please review the following terms and conditions carefully. By using our services, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
Delivery Terms
- Discuss shipping requirements with the freight forwarder to determine the most suitable method.
- Shipping arrival dates and transit times are estimates and may vary. Allow up to 7 working days after arrival for customs clearance, port clearance, and delivery.
- In the event of vessels avoiding Colombo port without notice, an additional 4 weeks delay may occur from the original estimated date.
- Collection and delivery charges may apply. Sea freight prices to London and outside London are calculated based on volume.
Customer Responsibilities
- Packing lists are mandatory. Ensure items have sufficient expiry dates; no insurance is provided for shipped items.
- Commercial quantities are not allowed. Package weight should not exceed 40 kgs with 4-5 packs/kgs per package. Declare electric/electronic items as they are taxable.
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Customs reserves the right to inspect packages, confiscating items containing alcohol.
- Communication with all involved parties is essential to avoid misunderstandings or delays.

Shipping Products
- Alcohol is not permitted under any circumstances. Customs have all right to open any packages and if alcohol is detected they will confiscate everything.
- Customers should allow up to 7 working days after shipment has arrived for custom clearance, port clearance and delivery. Occasionally some vessels are avoiding Colombo port without prior notices, in such a situation an additional 4 weeks delay will occur from the original estimated date of arrival.
- Packing lists are compulsory as per shipping regulations. Customers should ensure their items have adequate lengths of expiry dates for their items and we do not insure any items that are shipped. We do not accept liability for loss damage or inappropriate packed liquid items and damages caused through such items.
- Sri Lanka Custom change and amend custom regulation without prior notification. In such situations we do not accept liability for additional chargers and the customer is liable to pay the additional charges if levied.
- Sri Lanka Custom has all the authority to hold /detain and impose additional taxes on your.
